We at the clinic aim to make your first visit a calm and rewarding experience and the staff are here to help you though the process. Your fist visit is a longer one.  We need to have as much relevant information about you and your problem as possible, so that and accurate diagnosis can be made and the appropriate treatment offered to you. The process and conclusions will be explained to you at each stage and you may ask questions at any time.

When you arrive

The first part is all about paperwork, there are forms to complete before you meet your chiropractor.  Your chiropractor will then take you through to a treatment room where a full history of not only your current problem, but also any previous problems and a medical history.  You will then be taken to a private cubicle and asked to change down to your underwear; females will be given a “patient gown” to wear.  You will then be given a full neurological, orthopaedic and chiropractic examination in order to identify the problem area.

If X-Rays or scans are required to check further into your problem, this will be discussed with you.

The diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan will be explained and the options discussed with you before any treatment takes place and may include advice regarding lifestyle, work, diet and exercise when necessary.  The diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan will be explained and the options discussed with you before any treatment takes place and may include advice regarding lifestyle, work, diet and exercise when necessary.  Treatment will only commence when you are happy and if you consent to do so.  Consent and agreement is an important part of the treatment plan and should you wish to do so, consent to treat may be withdrawn at any time.

What you can expect

Some good effects are felt after just one visit however a series of visits may be needed to make a significant change.  Your chiropractor will schedule these based on your individual needs.

We find that a collaborative and joint effort on the part of both the patient and the chiropractor works best to ensure the best outcomes for the patient.
